The International Ayurveda Symposium looks back on a long tradition: Since 1998, the Ayurveda community has been meeting in Birstein every year in autumn. The international gathering of experts provides important impetus in the fields of education, research, and practice in ayurvedic medicine. Right from the beginning, the Indian Embassy as well as recognized professional associations and academic institutions have stand aside as partners for this conference.
The Symposium is expected to attract more than 250 health professionals. Participants are welcome to deepen their professional knowledge and learn more about the latest scientific and best practice findings. Join us and see how modern and ancient healing traditions go hand in hand.

Mon, Sept 12, 2016 | Pre-Meeting of the INDRA initiators
INDRA was launched within the context of two International Research Seminars (IRSA) at the European Academy of Ayurveda in 2014 and 2015. About 100 delegates coming from 19 countries attended the first meetings that were part of the International Ayurveda Symposium. The mission of INDRA is to initiate, endorse and coordinate research activities in line with international standards. An INDRA White Paper designed as guidance for Ayurveda research activities is expected to be adopted at the follow-up meetings.
This year’s INDRA meeting will be hosted by the 3rd International Congress on Ayurveda in Milan, Italy. The meeting will be held on September 16 - 19, 2016. On Monday, September 12, the INDRA core group members and consulting experts are coming together at the symposium in Birstein to prepare the meeting in Milan.
