Psychosomatics in Ayurvedic Diagnostics
Prof. Dr. Martin Mittwede
On the basis of the holistic approach that Ayurveda advocates, it is essential to look at the psychological aspects of each illness in its history. Nutrition and lifestyle are the basic pillars through which the transfer to the physical level takes place.
It is important to deal carefully with the psychological Doshas "Rajas and Tamas", which are often used to put a person in a drawer. A closer examination of these principles should clarify the essential characteristics in order to be able to consider Rajas and Tamas better in the diagnosis.
At the same time, it is important to consider somato-psychic dynamics carefully. Ayurveda with its focus on quality of life offers many possibilities. Starting with the diagnostic recording of such processes, there are also consequences for the development of the treatment plan.
